If you’ve been following my journey as a #photographer then you may have noticed that after losing my father on December 20, 2010, my entire outlook on #photography and what I wanted to photograph changed. After capturing his battle with #cancer, photographing things that were not important to me no longer felt good. I felt very lost with no idea which way I was going to turn. And as I’ve said before, sometimes you have to get lost in order to find yourself. I decided to shoot what felt good to me and things that meant something to me.
For the past 2 years, I’ve been working on a book/photography project tentatively titled “Getting Lost” with my 5 year old daughter Kailynn-James. “Getting Lost” is a collection of photographs of Kailynn’s and my serendipitous journeys. She & I literally hop in the truck, no navigation, I let her tell me which way to turn, we end up in the neatest, canvas like places and I of course capture the moment.
Beginning today, for a limited time, one of my limited edition prints from this project which is titled “All Those Who Wander” is available for sale on Fraction Magazine’s web store. ( link in profile ). Only 20 available. I chose this image as my first available for sale because it is the first image that I shot that prompted me to turn our “Getting Lost” journeys into a work of art. #blackandwhite #fineart #fractionhps #fractionmagazine #holidayprintsale

#lifechanger “You will die. Make sure your life means something. Calculate how
many days are left in your “typical” mortality bank and do your
absolute best to make every one of them count. Look around you. If
you don’t like how you are spending today, change it. Don’t spend
your life stuck somewhere you don’t love, doing something about which
you aren’t passionate, surrounded by people you can barely tolerate.
This isn’t a dress rehearsal, as the old saying goes. Make it count.” ( from Joshua Kennon ) #inspiration #love #life #live 💕💕💕
